MUTE is an inspirationally, riveting musical production. The scene takes place with a highly talented, yet shy, young girl, who has a beautiful voice that would seemingly make time stand still. However, only her grandfather has heard her amazing voice. As brand new residents in the neighbourhood, her grandfather finally convinces her to showcase her gift in a major stage production at her new high school. With everything seemingly positioned to channel her life in the right direction, a sudden tragedy changed everything!
Grandfather, the one who encouraged her most, who believed in her more than she believed in herself, unexpectedly collapsed and died! Unable to express the pain of the loss; unwilling to understand the greatness inside her; believing that sharing their secret would betray their special moments. Now afraid to step towards her undeniable destiny; she, in order to cope with it all, does what seemed to be the only thing she could do; quiet the very echoes of greatness within her.
Now as a new student in a school for the highly talented in the Arts, her silence turns her world into chaos. Her silence brings unwanted attention, and new insecurities within her which in-turn creates animosity with some of the popular girls in the school. They see her as a trespasser, a threat, and so they bullied her for daring to come to their school without proving to them she had what it took. In their eyes she didn’t deserve to be there and they were going to do whatever it took to get her out.
However, in ‘Truth’ there is ‘Hope’ in ‘Love’, and somehow these truths find her, and in that one magical moment of revelation everything is revealed!
